I meal prep Juicy Chicken 101 at the beginning of each week so I can have yummy, healthy, and juicy chicken ready to go for the rest of the week. The ultimate hot girl staple!
ingredients
- chicken breast: sammy says the thicker the chicken the better and i totally agree. i usually slice chicken breast in half for most recipes but i’ve found with the juicy chicken 101 method, leaving the breast whole actually makes for a juicier chicken breast. less work and yummier chicken… win-win!
- oil: I recommend using an oil with a high smoke point since the pan will get pretty hot. I personally love cooking with avocado oil since its healthier and has a high smoke point, another win-win!
- your favorite spices: you don’t have to use the exact spices sammy uses, the best part about juicy chicken 101 is that its totally customizable and you can literally use any spices your little heart desires. my favorite spices to use for juicy chicken 101 are garlic powder, onion powder, paprika (for color), and of course salt and pepper.
- some other flavor combos that would be delish are taco seasoning for a mexican juicy chicken 101 vibe, italian seasoning (+extra garlic powder), ranch seasoning… the possibilities are endless!
- secret ingredient alert! my secret to the most flavorful chicken breast is using adobo instead of salt. this is totally optional but it adds a ton of flavor. i know adobo seasoning is not something everyone has in their pantry so i didn’t add it as an ingredient in the official recipe. but if you’re a real one actually reading through this post, now you know my secret weapon 🙂
tips for the best chicken breast
- washing your chicken breast is optional but patting your chicken breast DRY is not!
- if your chicken is still wet/moist, it will steam instead of getting the nice beautiful sear you deserve
- be generous with your seasonings!
- i really love to pat on and rub in the spices, almost like a thin coating or crust instead of just a little sprinkle sprinkle
- get your pan HOT before you put the chicken in so that it can get a nice sear and crust, which will lock in that juiciness.
- how do you know if your pan is hot enough? i usually just sprinkle a few drops of water on the pan- if it pops and sizzles, it’s perfect! if it evaporates immediately, it’s too hot.
- remember to let your chicken rest for a few minutes after you take it out of the oven so that it can retain its yummy juices.

Juicy Chicken 101
The Viral Tik Tok Juicy Chicken 101!
Ingredients
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, about 1 pound
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F
- Prep the chicken: Dry chicken with paper towels and make sure to pat DRY (*very key). Season the chicken on both sides
- Heat a cast iron skillet or oven-proof pan over medium high heat and coat the bottom with a thin layer of oil. Once the pan is HOT, put chicken into the pan and let cook for 5 minutes. (Try not to move your chicken around so it can get a nice sear)
- Flip the chicken and immediately transfer the pan into the oven for 13 minutes
- Take chicken out of oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
